normally I would share this sparkling Sangria recipe in a couple of months with you but due to my travel to Croatia in a week I couldn’t wait that long. I Croatia it is normally a couple of degrees warmer in April than in Austria. This is the reason why we need Sangria. My go-to after work drink, during the warmer months of the year.
I was fortunate to learn that recipe from an older Spanish lady during my time on Mallorca. To be honest until that day I only knew red Sangria and not even the homemade one. No the one I knew was from the store and already made soled in a bottle. When she showed me how to make sparkling Sangria – red and white I felt like the earth is now making sense to me.
When in Croatia I can already see myself sitting at the beach and enjoying a glass of Sangria with friends. Sounds like heaven to me.
Did you ever try to make Sangria on your own before? How are you enjoying your after work drinks?
Sparkling orange-lemon Sangria
– 1 lemon
– 1 small bottle of lemonade
– 1/2 bottle of white wine
– 2 cups of champagne
or 2 cups of sparkling water for lighter drink
or 1/2 cup of Vodka for a stronger one
Add the wine, lemonade and stir. If you serve later place the pitcher in the fridge and follow the next steps when serving.
Garnish your glasses with the slices of fruits. If you want it cooler add some ice cubes. Now pour in the wine mixture from the pitcher and leave some room. Add some of the champagne and serve.
